Background and objectives mission

This assignment is part of a series of replacements for three different general accounting positions within our client's Shared Service Center EMEAR. The subsidiaries concerned cover an international scope. The main objective was to ensure the day-to-day maintenance of the local accounting system in accordance with local GAAP standards, as well as IFRS on several analytical axes, in order to guarantee the reliability of the accounts, both for current accounting and for monthly and annual closing. The mission also involved ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and tax obligations in each jurisdiction.

The approach adopted was to quickly get to grips with multiple accounting files, thanks to close collaboration with local and central teams. Day-to-day activities included cash management, payroll, fixed asset tracking, multi-axis cost accounting and the preparation of the monthly closing under IFRS. The work also included the production of reporting via the Magnitude tool, the preparation of periodic tax returns, the preparation of statutory accounts as well as tax reporting and the preparation of tax proof. Lastly, relations with the statutory auditors were maintained to ensure compliance and the quality of external audits. The methodical approach was based on strict compliance with internal procedures and adaptation to local particularities.
