Background and objectives mission
As part of the creation of the DATA program department within our customer's Shared Services Center (SSC), the aim was to exploit the potential of available accounting and financial data. The mission was to experiment with the use of this data to generate high value-added analyses, with a view to improving internal organization and financial processes. The main challenge was therefore to transform a pool of raw data into relevant decision-making tools, facilitating decision-making and optimizing resource management.
approach adopted
The approach revolved around research and the definition of concrete use cases exploiting the various sources of accounting and financial data. Several Proof of Concept (POC) projects were carried out to experiment with different analytical tools such as Oracle Analytics, Celonis, Qlik and ABB Data. We played a key role in coordinating the functional expertise of the business teams with that of the technical teams responsible for tool development. This collaborative approach enabled us to align business needs with technological capabilities.
Benefits obtained
- Identification and validation of relevant use cases and POCs demonstrating the value of analysis tools (improved visibility, optimization)
- Improved communication between business and IT
- Laying the foundations for more effective data governance within the CSP
- Opening the way to the deployment of data-driven analyses with an impact on operational performance
